CHILD SAFE Reporting

If you are a child or young person that is involved with Churches of Christ and you feel unsafe, you can report about it here. When you get in touch with Stopline, they will help by listening to your concerns and taking action to make you safe. If you don’t want to make a report here, or you need help, please talk with a trusted adult like a parent or teacher. You can also contact Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800 or visit Kids Help Line. Please call 000 if you need help immediately.

If you are an adult – Child Safe Reporting is an independent service run by Stopline that gives you the opportunity to report your concerns. You must report if you know or suspect that any child or young person involved with Churches of Christ is at risk of sexual abuse or has been abused by a person who is a workforce member*

Some scenarios that must be reported according to Queensland legislation are:

  • a child or young person has disclosed that they are being or have been sexually abused
  • you have a reasonable belief that sexual abuse may be occurring or has previously occurred
  • an adult has disclosed historical abuse to you

For more information about your individual legal responsibility to report sexual abuse of children and young people, please visit:

*a workforce member can be any person connected to the CofC organisation or movement that is an employee, foster carer, student, volunteer, church leader, church governance group member or a contractor.
